Taylor Swift has returned to the music scene to reclaim her
throne as pop queen!
At the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards (which was every form of
disappointing), the songstress debuted the music video for her new single “LookWhat You Made Me Do,” off of her upcoming sixth studio record Reputation.
In the video, Swift debauches all perceptions of her created
by the media; starting from her Kim and Kanye feud, to her Calvin Harris
fallout, Apple Music dispute, and much more!
She references Kanye West by stating “I don’t like your
tilted stage,” and pokes fun at his wife in the end where onr of the many
Taylors says, “I’m getting receipts, gonna edit them later.” She also
references her feud with Calvin by depicting a tombstone with the name Nils
Sjoberg – the name she used under which she wrote Calvin’s hit song “This is
What You Came For.” She likewise references her 2009 encounter with West at the
VMAs where he interrupts her speech, claiming Beyoncé deserved to win Best
Female Video instead of Swift.
In addition, the backlash she received from Demi Lovato who
suggested that Taylor’s all-girl squad promoted skinny stereotypes was also
referenced.
The old Taylor may be dead, but one thing’s for sure – the new Taylor is always watching!RIP TAYLOR SWIFT YOU WILL BE MISSED #LooksWhatYouMadeMeDo pic.twitter.com/rMOZuORWEE— R E P U T A T I O N (@_swiftobsession) August 28, 2017
