Shouldn't Jordan Henderson have taken the armband already

It felt like a very bad moment in Wayne Rooney's career when he was dropped for England's World Cup qualifier in Slovenia.
Relegated to  the substitutes bench, England's captain and goal scorer knows that his place is no longer guaranteed for club or country.
It was also very noticeable-even though it went without a comment- that when Wayne Rooney came on as a substitute, he was given the armband as he still sees Wayne Rooney as England's captain.

If Wayne Rooney regains his form then he will remain in his place in the England starting line for next months World Cup qualifier with Scotland at Wembley.
But if Rooney is still on the bench for Manchester United then it is surely unlikely that he will get his place back for England.
Isn't it rather odd having a captain who doesn't start games on regular basis and comes on as a substitute in the late hours of the game.
We all know Wayne Rooney and we know surely that he certainly deserves a lot more than what he's getting now because  he will go down as an all time great who is currently out-of-form.
I feel if he still can't  get his form back then the England great should give the armband to Jordan Henderson who is presently on form.
