ANOTHER TALK WITH ONE OF THE FAST RISING ARTISTS JINMI ABDULS
Jolade Fashakin: Can you tell us how you started out as a singer?
Jinmi Abduls: As a child , I was surrounded by a lot of musical instruments, being a pastors kid and always in church . My elder sister was actively involved with instruments too. Ironically I always ran away from music Club and classes . But by age 10 somehow I had started playing a few , especially the harmonica . I went to a talent show once, played a Dbanj song on the harmonica (mouth organ) and won a radio phone . I spent the next few months listening to the different sounds of the world's top artists and I knew that I desperately wanted to make music . I then started singing and writing with my brother as my producer .
Jolade Fashakin: Most of your fans are teenagers do you feel your music isn't for everyone?
Jinmi Abduls: Oh no it is for everyone . It's just the teenagers that are online to talk about it. It's crazy and amazing meeting people in their 40s 50s that are so familiar with your music
